Work you’ll do

 

The Country HR Head – Indonesia is responsible for leading the full spectrum of HR functions within Indonesia, ensuring alignment with the Southeast Asia (SEA) HR strategy while addressing local business priorities, regulatory requirements, and cultural nuances. This position plays a key role in translating regional HR strategies into local actions that drive business results, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

The role involves close collaboration with SEA Business Unit (BU) HR, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and local leadership to support talent strategies, employee lifecycle management, and HR compliance in Indonesia. The Country HR Head also provides strategic HR partnership to internal client servicing functions in the country, such as Finance, Risk, Legal, and IT.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Localize and execute SEA HR strategies tailored to the Indonesian context and business environment.
  • Advise country leadership on people strategies that enable growth, transformation, and culture building.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for business leaders in Indonesia.

2. Talent Acquisition & Management

  • Lead strategic workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and internal mobility efforts across Indonesia.
  • Support development, career pathing, and succession planning for key talent in the country.
  • Drive the performance management and talent review process in collaboration with the BU and COEs.

3. Compensation & Benefits

  • Partner with Total Rewards COE to ensure competitive and compliant salary structures, benefits programs, and payroll processes.
  • Monitor market trends, conduct benchmarking, and ensure alignment with Indonesian labor regulations (e.g., UU Ketenagakerjaan, BPJS).
  • Oversee annual salary review, bonus cycle, and benefit optimization.

4. Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies and practices comply with Indonesian labor laws and industrial relations standards.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues with integrity and confidentiality, including working with external counsel when needed.
  • Manage engagement with government bodies (e.g., Kemenaker, BPJS, Pajak) and lead audits or inspections as required.

5. Organizational Culture & Engagement

  • Champion programs that drive employee engagement, cultural alignment, and well-being.
  • Implement Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives relevant to the local workforce.
  • Facilitate internal communication and employee listening initiatives (e.g., engagement surveys).

6. HR Operations & Technology

  • Oversee HR operations, including local systems, HRIS updates, documentation, and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and benefits in partnership with the Finance and Payroll teams.
  • Drive process improvements and digital transformation initiatives in HR.

7. Learning & Development

  • Support the implementation of SEA-wide learning programs while also addressing country-specific learning needs.
  • Promote upskilling and leadership development aligned with business priorities in Indonesia.

8. Functional Support for Internal Teams

  • Act as HR Business Partner to internal client servicing functions (Finance, Risk, Legal, IT, Facilities) within Indonesia.

Provide integrated HR services that support functional excellence and collaboration

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Psychology, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 20 years of HR experience, including 10 years in a senior or leadership HR role in Indonesia.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesian labor laws, HR compliance, and statutory requirements.
  • Appreciation and good understanding of the full spectrum of HR functions, from talent acquisition and performance management to learning and development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing employee relations and organizational issues.
  • Knowledge of DEI best practices and experience in implementing employee engagement programs.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with regional/global stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and spoken
