Work you’ll do


Deloitte’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) industry group brings together one of the world’s largest pools of deep industry experts – respected for helping shape some of the world’s most recognized TMT brands and helping companies of all shapes and sizes thrive in a digital world.


The primary area of focus for the Business Development Role is to support the development and implementation of the firm’s strategy by delivering the following:

  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets/propositions to meet client needs.
  • Arrange, host, facilitate and follow up business meetings with prospective clients and TMT partners.
  • Promote Deloitte’s services and capabilities to develop joint propositions.
  • Prepare Alliance Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Master Services Schedules and other contracts including Statements of Work to ensuring adherence to Deloitte Governance standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Track sales, revenue, opportunities using Deloitte approved systems and tools;


In this role you will:

  • Lead business development activities, including leveraging business development knowledge and good practices from across the firm;
  • Ensure effective follow up on activities, and demonstration of ROI;
  • Support the pursuit process for opportunities;
  • Work with other teams to deliver maximum value to the business, e.g. thought leadership, market campaigns, etc.;
  • Support, drive and deliver joint proposition campaigns when required;
  • Attend key conferences, events and product launches to ensure relationships are nurtured, maintained and developed whilst keeping up-to-date with the products and services of our Alliance Partners;
  • Ensure the messages and learnings from client feedback are shared and acted upon to help increase opportunity conversion and client satisfaction;
  • Contribute ideas and insights to the E&A community within Deloitte;
  • Provide expert advice on the most appropriate approach, content and channel mix to deliver propositions and Alliance activity; and support continuous improvement activities.

Enough about us, let's talk about you


You are someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in a business, technology or engineering discipline.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales and client relationship management (ideally within a professional services environment).
  • Minimum 12- 15 years of professional experience in a strategic or operations planning/consulting role in the Telecom Service Provider or High-Technology Industry.
  • Minimum 3 years in a senior leadership role in a consulting practice, with success in growing both team and revenue. An expert understanding of targeting and opportunity management with the ability to contribute and implement both strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth.
  • Sense of responsibility to self, team, and client.
  • Proven experience effectively prioritising workload to meet deadlines and work objectives.
  • Drive, tenacity, client focused and results oriented.
  • An appreciation of the consulting lifestyle and ability to travel (both locally and abroad) is a pre-requisite to fit to our short-term and long-term project assignment.
