Work you’ll do

This role will be responsible for working with the Billing Managers to support the Billing team in creation of client bills in the following capacities: 


  • Provide the billing team with appropriate training; including awareness of the tax rules, Deloitte entities, billing policies and processes.
  • Actively participate in change management activities.
  • Ensure metrics are being consistently achieved.
  • Ad hoc quality checks to ensure that the billing policies and process are applied consistently
  • Coach the billing team through the performance management process.
  • Provide support on escalated partner or engagement team billing requests.
  • Review monthly reports for action including; USI time cleared, inactive partners report, location report and billing stats report.
  • Ensure work completed by the team is in compliance with the firms policies.
  • Audit the requests processed and ensure to report the errors in a timely manner and work with the team to ensure errors do not repeat.
  • Bring to the solution of requests to the Operations Manager which do not comply with the firm’s policy.
  • Identify tax issues related to invoicing and ensure these tax rules are consistently followed by the billing team.
  • Update billing system and customer files with issued invoices.
  • Liaison with Finance team to effectively resolve discrepancies; acting as the first point of contact to ensure complete, timely and accurate flow of invoicing and communication to optimize productivity, organizational effectiveness and maximize cash flow.
  • Work as a team to achieve Service Level Agreement for the process and individual targets; and suggest process improvement activities.
  • Focus on performance to meet expected levels in terms of daily quantity and quality standards of work.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures, Federal and Provincial regulations and guidelines and contractual requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of business applications such as: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to lead a team of diverse individuals managing complex business processes
  • Must clearly understand how to handle confidential information
  • Ability to quickly understand and learn new skills and technologies
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
