The special projects lead will lead strategic finance and finance transformation projects, integrating deep financial technical capabilities and commercial acumen with proficiency in executive-level communication and cross-function stakeholder management.
Work you’ll do
Strategic Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Lead the review, analysis, and interpretation of member firms financial data (P&L, Balance Sheet, Personnel, and key financial metrics), providing actionable insights and recommendations for regional and organizational performance.
- Own the development and delivery of comprehensive executive-level reports and presentations for Deloitte Asia Pacific and member firm finance leadership, ensuring timely communication of financial results, trends, and strategic impacts.
- Drive the enhancement and integration of financial reporting technologies (e.g., SAP) to enable advanced analytics, automation, and improved data quality.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with partner and director-level stakeholders across member firms, proactively providing expert guidance and tailored feedback to optimize reporting accuracy and business outcomes.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, identifying, designing, and implementing process efficiencies that improve data collection, validation, and analysis.
Project and Change Leadership
- Drive financial transformation projects—setting strategy, allocating resources, and driving cross-functional teams for successful project delivery and sustainable results.
- Develop and cascade project roadmaps, risk mitigation frameworks, and performance tracking tools to drive effective management of key financial and operational projects across the region.
- Present compelling business cases and strategic recommendations to senior leadership using data visualization, business intelligence, and executive storytelling.
People and Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, setting clear goals and expectations aligned with firm vision.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning, with special focus on developing future finance leaders at all job levels.
- Oversee delegation of responsibilities and resource allocation within the team to ensure delivery of objectives and support of professional development.
- Champion knowledge sharing through formal training programs on both technical financial acumen and essential soft skills.
Stakeholder and Executive Communication
- Act as a trusted advisor to Asia Pacific Executives and regional leadership, translating complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that inform decision-making.
- Ensure robust, transparent, and timely communication with stakeholders on all financial reporting, analysis, and project initiatives.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an accounting/ business or equivalent
Years of Experience: 10-15 years’ experience in financial accounting, reporting and analysis preferably in a senior finance role.
Other Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flows) and key KPIs in professional services.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and PowerPoint for executive presentations; familiarity with standard office tools.
- Expert in SAP financial systems and quick to adopt new reporting platforms.
- Clear and effective communicator with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated in interactions with executive leadership, global member firms, finance teams, internal clients, and stakeholders at every level.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently or lead teams under tight deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solver, skilled in risk management and issue resolution.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and research skills.
