Work you’ll do

As the Cloud DBA Engineer you will be working in Azure cloud databases, Azure resources configuration (Azure SQL), and use scripting language of PowerShell.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Expertise with Git or similar development repository
• Knowledge of database technologies especially Azure SQL
• Expertise with instrumentation, monitoring and alerting
• Perform technical deep dives into database design and perform root cause analysis
• Build relationships across teams
• Understand our businesses and users
• Creative and innovative, taking a thorough, design-driven approach
• Perform technical deep dives into databases, specifically in designing, coding, operating, and supporting high-performance, highly available database services
• Willingness to take on additional responsibility to ensure team success and quality solutions.
• A desire to constantly learn and share new knowledge

Requirements

• Extensive experience working in and maintaining large-scale database infrastructures.
• Working experience on Microsoft Cloud database technologies such as Azure SQL Database or Azure Managed SQL instance.
• Working experience with Synapse, Data Bricks, Azure Data Lake Storage V2
• Experience working on NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of Azure Devops (CI/CD) and concepts.
• Proven working experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator; good understanding of how Microsoft SQL Server works.
• Good understanding of database administration concepts, database standards and best practices

Preferred: 

• Azure Certification and/or the willingness to acquire Azure certification(s).
