Work you’ll do

CoRe Research & Insights (CoRe R&I) provides secondary research and analysis services to global Deloitte Member Firms in support of pursuit, business development, practice development and client engagements. The team uses exclusive sources, specialized research skills and industry expertise to develop insightful research reports delivering significant value totheir customers across Deloitte’s global network.


  • Conduct comprehensive research using secondary research sources and techniques
  • Learn and apply established research tools and methodologies to develop innovative research ideas
  • Perform meaningful data analysis, including developing assumptions and parameters
  • Conduct In-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis by connecting various pieces of information, identifying patterns,and forming logical structure to present a compelling story. Financial analysis, and strategic frameworks are used extensively in the team’s output
  • Present actionable insights using strong business writing, storyboarding and visualization skills.
  • Execute research projects ensuring quality and timelines while working in teams, or independently. Follow project execution guidelines around communication, sharing regular updates/flags, and addressing ‘key intelligence questions’ in agreed upon timelines
  • Suggest alternatives, and creative solutions to address current and anticipatory needs of clients and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with colleagues from Deloitte offices spread across the globe and stakeholders to understand, refine, and manage project expectations and priorities.
  • Participate in team level operational and brainstorming activities

Scoping and secondary research

  • Ability to clearly understand the research requirements through effective listening, comprehension, and probing skills
  • Adept in conducting preliminary research to ascertain data availability and estimate time/effort. Use this as input for scope
  • Good knowledge of databases, public sources of information, and/or industry specific sources
  • Ability to validate/triangulate sources for relevancy and accuracy

Analytical skills to provide actionable insights to practitioners. This will require,

  • Quantitative analysis of financial statements and operating metrics
  • Understanding of various strategic / forecasting models and frameworks
  • Critical thinking that can help look beyond obvious and create hypothesis
  • Experience in processing information in compelling visualization within logical structure is preferred skill


Industry Knowledge of one-or-more (or specific) industry is preferred, especially in terms of,

  • Key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to the industry
  • Understanding of the demand-supply-prices and economic factors driving the KPIs
  • Analyzing specific economies, industries/sectors, and market segments, identify emerging issues and trends andexecute research strategies
  • Versatile in adapting to cross-geographical analysis


Business writing

  • Strong business writing skills—narrative, appealing, succinct. Should be able to convey complex research ideas in acompelling and easier way through writing
  • Adept at written communication with stakeholders in adherence to email etiquettes
  • Prior experience in report writing for senior management and/or external publications is an added advantage
  • Articulate ideas and point of views in a confident and effective manner in client calls during all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Communication should reflect logical thinking and consultative approach


Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor Degree from a reputed institution. MBA holders will be a plus point
  • Overall, 3-4 years of experience with prior experience in business research in client service or internal setup


Skills required:

  • Clear and concise communication. Strong written and oral communications skills – ability to convey complex information crisply and concisely to busy executives
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis of client problems
  • Agile and responsive to adapt to the complex and dynamic nature of client requirements
  • Ability to synthesize data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to handle detailed work independently. Practical, hands-on and get things done
  • Ability to work in a highly diverse, multi-disciplinary, and multi-cultural environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Solid research skills and familiarity with various research tools
