Job Descriptions

Work on the roll out of electronic invoicing (“e-invoicing”) projects for large corporations in Malaysia.

  • The candidate’s role would be to support Managers and Directors who would be leading the project, and would be undertaking the following:

  • Coordinating workshops and meetings with the client and assisting in requesting information and documents
  • Review and understanding the client’s ‘As-Is’ process i.e. examining the client’s SOPs, manuals and other process documents to understand how data is captured, transactions are booked and invoices are issued
  • Participate in workshops including note taking, preparing files notes, and supporting the Manager and Director in presenting points and questions
  • Preparing the initial drafts of, the briefing / presentation slides, the Gap Assessment Reports and Issues Logs
  • Staying up to date with the tax technical requirements as outlined in the Legislation and also the Guidelines issued by the IRB
  • We anticipate that during the period of employment the candidate would be required to work on multiple projects simultaneously and spend periods of time at the client’s offices during the conduct of presentations, meetings, and workshops.

 

Requirements

  • Possess minimum a Bachelor Degree in related disciplines such as Accounting / Economics / Tax or Professional Qualification (CPA/ACCA/MIA/MICPA) / Business Process Management with minimum 4 years of tax working experience preferably in a multinational or publicly listed corporation
  • Major in Information Systems / Information Technology (High Score / Prize Winner in the same module/subject for candidates with a professional qualification) is preferred.
  • US GAAP and / or IFRS tax accounting experience such as provision preparation or tax audit work
  • Familiarity with a broad range of tax concepts, including in corporate tax, corporate tax provisions, and corporate income tax returns
    1. Experience of corporate income tax compliance processes including return preparation and payments
    2. Possess good organizational skills and able to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines
    3. A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
  • Although not essential, any experience in any projects relating to tax automation or ERP (e.g. SAP, Oracle) configuration for tax is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in financial systems analysis or implementation is preferred.
  • Prior experience in internal audits of the financial information process.
  • Prior experience in a finance or accounts payable department.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
