Work you’ll do

  • You will serve as a Consultant or Senior Consultant working closely with project teams on multiple client engagements and proposals in a range of industries in Southeast Asia.  You will have a chance to experience various activities within the merger and acquisition life cycle, with a focus on value advisory, financial modelling and decision support for transactions.
  • You will play an active role in all aspects of the engagement. This includes writing proposals, executing engagements, engaging clients, performing analyses of the business, building financial models, performing valuations, drafting reports and communicating with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Writing of proposals typically involves conducting research, understanding the relevant market and industry and identifying information required for the subject asset.
  • Executing of engagements normally involves understanding the client’s merger and acquisition requirements, particularly from a valuation perspective, which will require a good understanding of the target asset’s industry and its financial statements, for evaluating the target asset.
  • Building financial models and performing valuations usually involves identifying information required for the application of the selected valuation methodologies, conducting research, gathering and analysing relevant information, benchmarking and assessing the reasonableness of the assumptions adopted, and contributing to presentations and report materials.  
  • Communication with all levels of the stakeholders includes communicating effectively to all levels of engagement management and participating actively in meetings with clients and/or stakeholders for projects.
  • Working in close collaboration with other offering teams within the firm.

Requirements

 

  • Completed undergraduate or master’s degree in accounting, finance or business majors from a recognized university with outstanding academic credentials or professional qualifications such as CFA, CVA, ICAEW and ACCA.
  • Ideally, 2 to 6 years of relevant working experience in business valuation, auditing, M&A, investment banking, private equity, or equity research.
  • Possesses good financial modelling skills, including building financial models from scratch and reviewing clients’ models.
  • Able to work independently and analyse complex financial issues within a commercial context.
  • Possesses strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to produce concise and logical analyses and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate and present ideas confidently.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a highly driven team which values a high-performing culture mindset, collaboration, caring for each other and respect.
