Work you will do

Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transaction (“SR&T”) – Restructuring, Turnaround & Cost Transformation (“RTCT”) practice in Southeast Asia.

 

Our people flourish in the unexpected. The RTCT team specialises in offering sophisticated advice and innovative solutions to companies facing corporate stress or disruption. Working with lenders, investors and senior stakeholders including CEOs, CFOs and MDs, we advise on financial restructuring / refinancing, operational restructuring, profit improvement programs, formal insolvency appointments (including Judicial Management, Receiverships and Liquidations) cash generation / working capital analysis, and large-scale complex transformational change, to protect and build value, while maximizing returns.

 

You will work alongside our clients to bring a rigorous, evidence-based analytical capability and strategic thinking to help them solve pressing, complex and cross-border issues. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving change, identifying opportunities and develop solutions across the whole organization.

 

The nature of the work we do includes: 

  • Project Management: Oversee projects day-to-day focused on financial and operational restructuring, business transformation, corporate insolvency and distressed M&A, with director / partner guidance.
  • Negotiations & Stakeholder Liaison: Participate in negotiations, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage external relationships during project execution.
  • Transaction Management: Lead end-to-end transaction execution, liaising directly with clients and lenders.
  • Business Development & Strategy: Support marketing, thought leadership, and proposal, ensuring alignment with client needs and contribute to Deloitte’s strategy.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage small teams, delegate effectively, mentor junior members, and take responsibility for long-term client relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate across different practices, ensuring risk management compliance and involvement in firm-wide professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Possesses a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; a Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years of professional experience within Restructuring Services & Insolvency, or as a Credit Analyst, demonstrating expertise in financial analysis and restructuring projects.
  • Strong financial analysis and commercial acumen, with a proven ability to interpret and analyze key business drivers.
  • Proficient in building and reviewing financial forecast models; familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an added advantage.
  • Ability to critically problem-solve by identifying issues, evaluating options, and devising innovative solutions to client challenges.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability abilities, with experience in report writing and building strong client and internal relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, with high attention to detail and a meticulous work approach.
  • Proven project management skills, with experience delivering projects within deadlines and balancing competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, mentoring and guiding junior team members, while supporting the wider corporate finance team on client engagements.
  • Ability to work efficiently against demanding timelines, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Always coachable and focused on continuous professional development, with a client-first, values-driven mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to other Southeast Asian and international locations as needed for client assignments and project work.
