Work you’ll do:
As part of the Artificial Intelligence & Data (AI&D) team in Deloitte Southeast Asia, you will be at the forefront of how organizations harness data, cloud, and AI. Our work spans modern data platforms, advanced analytics, generative AI, and agentic AI systems - always staying ahead of the curve to help clients transform with confidence.
You will work across a spectrum of engagements - ranging from strategy and advisory to technical solutioning and implementation - helping clients unlock business value through trusted and responsible AI adoption.
In this role, you will:
- Collibra Implementation: Lead the end-to-end setup of the Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud, including the Data Catalog, Business Glossary, and Policy Manager.
- BigQuery Integration: Configure and maintain technical metadata harvesting from Google BigQuery into Collibra using standard or custom integrations.
- Discovery & Classification: Automate the discovery of new data assets and implement sensitive data classification (PII/PHI) to ensure compliance with global privacy standards.
- Data Quality Framework: Design and deploy Data Quality (DQ) rules and dashboards within Collibra to monitor the health of migrated data sets.
- Workflow Development: Create and customize BPMN 2.0 workflows in Collibra to automate stewardship assignments, asset approvals, and access requests.
- Lineage Mapping: Build and maintain end-to-end data lineage from legacy on-prem sources to BigQuery to ensure transparency for stakeholders and auditors.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Data Stewards and Owners to define business terms, KPIs, and data ownership matrices (RACI).

Requirements:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Engineer to lead the post-migration governance framework for our enterprise data landscape. Following our migration from on-premises systems to Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery), you will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust governance layer using Collibra.
The ideal candidate will automate data discovery, establish rigorous data quality standards, and build seamless workflows that integrate technical metadata with business context:
- A good honors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline (postgraduate degree preferred)
- Relevant experience in a consulting firm (Big 4, MNC, or equivalent industry role).
- Minimum 4 years (Consultant) or 6 years (Senior Consultant) of relevant experience:
- Governance Tools: 1 to 3+ years of hands-on experience with Collibra (Operating Model, DGC, Catalog)
- Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically managing datasets and metadata in BigQuery.
- Workflow Automation: Experience developing workflows using Flowable or Activiti (BPMN 2.0).
- Data Quality: Familiarity with Collibra Data Quality (formerly OwlDQ) or similar tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Informatica).
- Languages: Strong SQL skills for data profiling and basic knowledge of Python or Java for API-based integrations.
- API/Integrations: Experience with Collibra’s Core API and Import API to sync metadata from disparate systems.
- Excellent problem solving skills, ability to think out-of-the-box, work under pressure and tight project timelines.
- Drive, tenacity, client-focused and results oriented.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- A positive attitude, strong team orientation, and client-first mindset.
- Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia, as required.
