Work you’ll do
Data sits at the heart of every organization and is relied upon for all aspects of operations, analysis, decision-making, reporting and regulatory requirements. Analytics is an exciting and thriving area at Deloitte. Our practitioners work with leading global, regional, and local clients where audit analytics makes the difference by providing actionable insights, bringing efficiency, and fostering innovation. Our Analytics team works as a multi-disciplinary team within the Audit & Assurance function to support them across a range of industries.
You will contribute to the Audit & Assurance Analytics strategy for Deloitte Singapore, being involved with execution of analytics projects to increase the quality, efficiency, and value of projects. Tasks ranges from data extraction, loading and cleaning activities to data analyses and visualization of results through interactive dashboards. You will be responsible for the timely delivery of high-quality work, help develop new analytical procedures, and communicate with internal and external client stakeholders.
You will also be working closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for advisory work, where creation and communication of value-adding proposals that clearly distinguishes Deloitte as the clear choice is expected with the guidance of managers. As you progress in your role, you are expected to demonstrate either through oral presentation or conceptualization of deliverables to establish our expertise in the required technical fields.
Tasks will include:

Data manipulation using tools such as Microsoft SQL, Python, R and/or Excel VBA to load and transform raw data into standard data models.

Data visualization using tools such as Tableau or Power BI
-
Perform data quality checks and reconciliations to verify the completeness of datasets provided to you. This task will require a degree of problem solving and the ability to understand basic accounting and finance concepts.

Manage a portfolio of analytics engagements, ensuring tasks are being done on time and in an efficient and accurate manner.

Assist and guide teams with data extraction from client systems.

Explore, propose and drive the development of analytics solutions to elevate both the department’s and client’s work efficiency.

Perform data analysis using internally created audit analytics packages or develop custom solutions.

Draw insights from data in IT systems to identify risk areas for monitoring and/or investigative purposes.

Assist in planning and executing analytics solution for the identified risk areas.

Assist in leading, developing and executing training courses to elevate auditors' analytics competencies.

Assist in managing the support, maintenance and enhancement of the department’s automation and analytics systems.

Collaborate with other teams/departments and co-create analytics solutions to identify anomalies or weaknesses in internal controls.

Requirements
-
Undergraduate, preferably studying in the fields of Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Studies, Accounting or Cyber Risks or equivalent.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills (i.e. pivot table, formula, formatting, charts & graphs etc.)

Hands on experience with tools such as

Database technology (Preferably MS SQL)

Visualization software such as Tableau/ Power BI
-
Python

Qualifications/certifications in data analytics/data science (e.g. Specialist Diploma in Business & Big Data Analytics) and Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) or equivalent will be advantageous.

Able to handle data ambiguity and demonstrated critical thinking skills

Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work in a team with an attention to details
