The Manager (if less experienced, Assistant Manager) will play a key position in managing the books and records of the AP central entities. Responsibilities will include assisting in the management of the budget, preparation of monthly management accounts and assisting in tax and audit compliance in concert with the AP Financial Controller. 
 

Given the breadth of the stakeholders within AP, a successful candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and self-confidence when dealing with senior leaders. Responsibilities:
 

Managing operational transactions in AP

  • Helping to manage the AP central operating budget and other AP project budgets.
  • Liaising with budget owners and other stakeholders to ensure the relevant transactions are duly approved and accurately recorded.
  • Managing service fees and other funding sources, including billings


Financial Accounting:

  • Ensuring that the books are record are compliant with applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and captures all relevant transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Applying past experience to identify and apply areas of improvement for ‘best practice’


Management Reporting

  • Preparing periodic management reporting requirements including cash flow reporting, budget vs actual analysis & forecasting.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations to senior leadership including the Audit & Risk Committee and Board of Directors of Deloitte AP.


Statutory & Regulatory Reporting

  • Assist in preparing the books and records for audit & tax purposes
  • Support in responding to audit & tax informational requests/queries.


Team & Task Management

  • Delegates tasks to the team members and/or co-ordinate activities within the team
  • Managing work and deliverables in an organized fashion to ensure timely and consistent delivery of outputs.

Requirements
 

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in an accounting/ business field preferred
  • 8-10 years’ experience in financial accounting, reporting and analysis 
  • Proficient in Excel to enable efficient and effective data processing, analysis & reporting as required.
  • Proficient, or able to become proficient quickly, with simple accounting packages
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication and a high level of English proficiency.
  • The ideal candidate must possess a flexible work style and be able to work beyond the normal schedule during peak periods in order to meet deadlines. 
  • Able to develop network within Deloitte Group Finance to aid in the team’s understanding of financial data.
  • Should be able to work effectively, with minimal day-to-day supervision, and within a team environment with a view to significantly contributing to the success of the team.
  • Must possess a client-service mindset and a desire to take on tough and challenging projects.  Will proactively investigate and mitigate risks, coordinating with team members and others to resolve issues and escalate issues as necessary
