Work you’ll do


•    Support the Financial Advisory Risk Leader and SEA FA Risk team as it continues to develop and foster a consultative network for reputation and risk management matters in Southeast Asia. 
•    Be a subject matter resource for applicable regulations and contractual agreements and provide reasoned, practical and timely advice to engagement teams.
•    Lead and support negotiations in a broad range of commercial contracts with internal and external clients and suppliers, such as regional and global engagement arrangements, confidentiality agreements, referrals, teaming and sub-contracting arrangements, and tenders.
•    Assist to develop/ modify/ update contractual templates to enable Financial Advisory client facing partners and staff to work efficiently and effectively to deliver client engagements while maintaining compliance with reputation and risk management policies, as well as legal and regulatory requirements. 
•    Liaise with the SEA Office of the General Counsel in the identification and management of regulatory, legal and contractual risks for Financial Advisory. 
•    Remain updated on legal developments that affect or potentially affect SEA Financial Advisory and/or the wider Deloitte network and continue to develop best practices tailored to Financial Advisory’s business needs.

Requirements

 

•    A recognised LLB or JD from an established university, and a qualification in Singapore law.
•    Preferably a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm, with a strong foundation in corporate and commercial work; and/or experience in a good in-house legal team.  Good experience in M&A practice will be an advantage to any applicant.
•    Ability to advise on, draft, review and negotiate M&A and commercial/corporate documents.
•    Experience in / sound understanding of commercial practices, compliance and risk practices; and framework and regulatory obligations of a business like Deloitte SEA Financial Advisory. 
•    Strong communication and cross-cultural skills. 
•    Keen attention to detail. 
•    Ability to work across different service offerings and in a cohesive team environment.
