Deloitte has one of the largest Indirect Tax and Global Trade Advisory practice in Singapore, and is regarded within the firm as one of the leading and most successful service lines, with a reputation for being proactive, entrepreneurial, successful and fun to work with. 


This is a position with Deloitte’s rapidly expanding Global Trade practice, providing tailored advice and solutions to a broad range of clients, both domestic and multinationals looking to gain access into various markets from a regulatory, trade and customs perspective. 

 

As a Senior Manager, you will lead a team of professionals providing customs and international trade advice to clients across a whole range of projects involving the use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), HS Code classification, customs valuation and transfer pricing, export controls, supply chain management / optimization from a customs and trade perspective, and using trade schemes and other facilitation schemes provided by Singapore Customs and the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).

 

You will have requisite knowledge of regulations and principles forming the hallmark of international trade, applying principles of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) to market access and border taxation, helping companies navigate through complex tariff and non-tariff barriers, devising appropriate strategies and able to understand and use global trade tools and technology. Other responsibilities include carrying out of trade compliance reviews arising from business restructurings, M&A, and working on complex customs and trade disputes involving duties, taxes and other WTO-related disputes.

Requirements

 

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of international trade experience whether in the private or public sector dealing in one or more of the areas identified above    
  • You should have at least a degree in law, accounting and finance, economics or other supply chain-related fields
  • Able to lead and manage a team of professionals across a wide range of matters and projects
  • Proactive in dealing with clients and being the main point of contact on relevant project portfolios
  • Co-ordination with other groups and services lines within the firm where strong interpersonal skills are a must along with the ability to work well within a wider team.  
  • Accountable and continuously striving for personal excellence.
