Work you’ll do:
Deloitte Insights (DI) is Deloitte’s global publishing imprint for business research and insights. It publishes 300-plus thought leadership pieces annually across formats including print, online, interactive, infographics, podcasts, and videos intended to inform Deloitte clients and prospective clients on business issues across functions, industries/sectors, and geographies. The global DI team within Deloitte, Touche, Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) is responsible for driving the most strategic thought leadership within the Deloitte member firm network targeting global C-suite and board-level executives. 


As APAC’s regional executive editor for Deloitte Insights, you’ll work with DI’s leadership team, as well as thought leaders and research professionals, editors, production and deployment professionals, and more to strategize, develop, and orchestrate both thought leadership projects aligned with Deloitte’s global signature issues and research and insights targeted specifically at APAC-based audiences that will be distributed through local channels. Your responsibilities will include:

 

•    Managing the regional APAC insights editorial team including regional research, editorial, marketing/audience development strategy and operations. 
•    Leading regional stakeholder management with senior executives, partners, and directors across all regional member firms and ensuring alignment to global strategic and business priorities. 
•    Leading the regional content strategy and its alignment with Deloitte’s global content strategy: leading the regional thought leadership portfolio management process, overseeing APAC’s content pipeline to manage the aggregation and coordination of APAC’s content plans and projects and identifying thought leadership content to elevate to global DI channels
•    Leading the coordination of APAC authors’ contributions to global signature issue content: collaborating with DI publishing team leadership and Deloitte’s global Center for Integrated Research on global signature issue content strategy in APAC.
•    Partnering with APAC-based thought leaders, research professionals, and their marketers to develop and refine thought leadership content plans and projects for Deloitte’s global signature issues.
•    Represent the APAC region on the “Global Signature Issue Leadership Group” and serve as the primary editorial liaison to APAC-based content creators and other business stakeholders globally.
•    Developing and managing a team of internal and external resources to ensure quality control and appeal of pieces authored by internal subject matter experts
•    Acting as a champion of Deloitte’s channel strategy: helping to educate APAC-based content creators on which types of content would best fit each of Deloitte’s owned publishing channels, and promoting the use of our global thought leadership registry for thought leadership content planning and management
•    Coaching Deloitte content creators in APAC on language usage, writing style, storytelling effectiveness, and Deloitte Insights’ production processes

 

Our DI publishing team comprises of editors and researchers plus production, audience development, and digital operations professionals located around the world. The regional executive editor will report to the regional APAC Clients & Industry Leader and the DI global leader.

Who you’ll work with:
Global Clients and Industries provides expertise and knowledge around industries, clients, and markets to win new engagements, retain clients, and increase market share. Using industry insight, a multidisciplinary approach, and cross-border collaboration, we support lead client service professionals and their teams around the world. In APAC, you’ll work with research professionals, regional thought leaders, and business leaders to identify and develop thought leadership projects suitable for Deloitte Insights publication.

 

Qualifications:

Required:
•    Minimum 15 years of experience in publishing and editorial management
•    Bachelor’s degree (preferably in journalism, English, communications, or similar)
•    Excellent team management skills and proven experience with building and nurturing a world class editorial and research team
•    Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, including the confidence to interact with and influence personnel at all levels, as well as listening skills, responsiveness, flexibility, initiative, decision-making, conflict resolution, and tact
•    Excellent understanding of the unique needs of readers in the APAC region
•    Expert understanding of publishing best practices, content strategy, and channel strategy 
•    Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and oral communication skills; proven ability to translate complex concepts into easily digestible terms; experience with multimedia content
•    Outside-in orientation, considering all content projects from the perspective of the target audience and their needs/interests
•    Exceptional knowledge of English grammar (US) and AP style, and the ability to explain edits to authors 
•    Strong strategy development and operations leadership in understanding of the publishing production process 
•    Excellent attention to detail, laser focus on quality, and ability to consider the big picture
•    Ability to work independently, as well as with a larger, multifunctional team
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Word, content management systems, and workflow and collaboration tools such as Workfront, Microsoft Teams, etc.; knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint 

 

Preferred:
•    Experience in a publishing/media house 
•    Experience with corporate thought leadership and global, cross-industry content
•    Experience working remotely with a global team
