Work you’ll do
Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transaction (“SR&T”) – Performance Improvement & Restructuring (“PI&R”) practice in Southeast Asia.
Our people flourish in the unexpected. The PI&R team specialises in offering sophisticated advice and innovative solutions to companies facing corporate stress or disruption. Working with lenders, investors and senior stakeholders including CEOs, CFOs and MDs, we advise on financial restructuring / refinancing, operational restructuring, profit improvement programs, formal insolvency appointments (including Judicial Management, Receiverships and Liquidations) cash generation / working capital analysis, and large-scale complex transformational change, to protect and build value, while maximizing returns.
You will work alongside our clients to bring a rigorous, evidence-based analytical capability and strategic thinking to help them solve pressing, complex and cross-border issues. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving change, identifying opportunities and develop solutions across the whole organization.
The nature of the work we do includes:
- Project Management: Oversee projects day-to-day focused on financial and operational restructuring, business transformation, corporate insolvency and distressed M&A, with director / partner guidance.
- Negotiations & Stakeholder Liaison: Engage in negotiations, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage external relationships during project execution.
- Client & Transaction Management: Lead end-to-end project execution, liaising with clients, lenders, and advisors.
- Business Development: Support marketing, thought leadership, and the preparation of proposals tailored to client needs.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage small teams, provide mentoring, delegate responsibilities, and lead professional development initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across practices and businesses within the firm, ensuring effective risk management from project initiation to completion.
- Support business development initiatives including building client and creditor relationships, preparing proposals, participating in pitches and contributing to the growth of the practice.
- Monitor engagement budgets, billing and collections, ensuring profitability and efficient resource allocation
- Participate in internal management meetings to update new opportunities.

- Lead day-to-day execution of client engagements across restructuring, turnaround, insolvency, special situations and performance improvement assignments.
- Manage multiple engagement teams and act as the primary point of contact for clients, lenders, investors and other key stakeholders.
- Lead discussions with management teams, financiers, legal advisers and other stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Identify key commercial, operational and financial issues and provide practical, value enhancing recommendations.
- Manage engagement economics, budgets, timelines and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Develop and mentor junior professionals through active coaching, performance management and career development.
- Support business development initiatives through relationship management, proposal preparation, thought leadership and participation in client pitches.
- Build and strengthen relationships across Deloitte and the broader market to contribute to the growth of the practice.
Requirements
- Possesses a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Restructuring Services, Investment Banking, or Credit Analysis, with a focus on financial analysis and restructuring projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex financial advisory, restructuring or performance improvement engagements.
- Strong financial analysis and commercial acumen, with proven expertise in interpreting key business drivers and analysing financial data.
- Expertise in building and reviewing financial forecast models; familiarity with data analytics and visualisation tools like Power BI is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Ability to think critically, identify issues, and devise strategic solutions to overcome client challenges.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset in articulating and solving complex engagement issues, consulting with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate
- Strong communication skills, including report writing, with the ability to build and maintain client and internal relationships.
- Proven ability to concurrently manage a portfolio of engagements, client expectations and team performance.
- Experience developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Willingness to travel for client assignments across Southeast Asia and internationally.
- Always coachable and committed to continuous professional development, prioritising a client-first, values-driven approach.
