The opportunity is to join a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary team that is developing and will implement a multi-campus strategy across Asia Pacific for Deloitte University. 


The Project
We are looking for an individual who will actively deliver management & advisory services, including but not limited to, modelling, quality assurance, quality control and SME (subject matter expertise) related to:
•    Develop & implement customised financial models for each project
•    Overseeing & supporting the creation of the final business case(s) to allow for a go/no-go investment commitment, incl. view on risks & mitigations;
•    Drafting discussion documents, scope & framework briefs for set-up, analysis & implementation across all financial requirements;
•    Assessing financial impact at project and portfolio level and provide input towards the corresponding strategy, business case development 
•    Engaging with a range of internal and external parties including architects, engineering firms, developers, government bodies and others across Asia Pacific;
•    Extensive liaison with Executive teams and Boards of the firms that are establishing a campus


The output of this work will provide for decision making  on the basis of a final longe-term, sustainable business case. Enabling this will require consistent and rigorous methodology & structure across the 3-4 projects, with customisation against specific situations and financial considerations.

The role will also necessarily interact with other streams of work and provide support to overall project management on a regular basis. The candidate will need to be able to work in multi-cultural environments, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to operate collaboratively across diverse regional teams and the core DU AP team. The role will demand the navigation and facilitation of effective relationships with internal real estate & finance teams and a range of external parties including developers, hospitality operators, experience & technology designers, across Asia Pacific. Prior project experience and exposure in these fields would be advantageous.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Guide the design and establishment of financial model to be used, delivering consistency and efficiency;
  • Workshop and design tailored solutions for financial, entity structuring and the overall OPEX, CAPEX requirements
  • Liaising with project teams, including 3rd party vendors (developers, contractors) with regards to project & cost management;
  • Providing review and quality control of each individual business cases, whilst keeping an eye on the financial impact at the portfolio level;
  • Lead regular discussions with relevant counterparties and support executive engagement with key stakeholders;
  • Working in an advisory role across real estate, function & processes, and finance work-streams of the project to ensure that the stream output and modelling work together, leading up to submission of the final business case;
  • Support DU AP leadership in the implementation of projects, special initiatives, work-stream integration, in line with the critical path for each campus & the DU AP portfolio.


The role will be based in Asia Pacific and will report directly to the DU AP Strategy & Operations Lead. The successful candidate will not be required to relocate. Daily project coordination & activities etc. will occur using Zoom or MS Teams. Travel will be required as governmental and Deloitte restrictions ease to ensure that the successful candidate can engage effectively with his / her counterparts and the supporting teams for each campus in addition to appointed operating partners.

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in finance, accounting, business management, etc.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field of business case development, financial modelling and accounting;
  • Demonstrated confidence in client relationship and leadership management in a professional services environment.
  • Be experienced in building and reviewing complex financial models that support business cases for significant capital and operating expenditures;
  • Be able to engage with and guide others in creating and reviewing financial models
  • Experienced and highly competent with building supporting presentations and engagement materials.
  • Be able to effectively engage cross-cultural teams and manage across multiple work-stream dependencies, demonstrate in-depth knowledge and application of the broader strategy;
  • Have strong English language skills and the ability to express her / his views simply and clearly to others. The ability to communicate in Asian languages such as Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Korean would be a significant advantage.
