Work you’ll do

We are seeking a Senior Manager to oversee and govern the end-to-end statutory compliance, statutory audits, and financial accounting operations for our legal entities. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring regional and local regulatory compliance, establishing robust balance sheet governance, and leading strategic partnerships with internal finance teams and external auditors.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong technical accounting background, a proactive leadership style, and a proven track record of driving process optimisation in a fast-paced environment. You will lead the month-end and year-end financial close governance, sign off on statutory financial statements, drive compliance with financial regulations, and mentor a team of finance professionals to deliver high-quality, compliant financial reporting.

Job Description

  • Statutory Audit Governance: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the annual statutory audit process regionally/locally. Manage relationships with audit partners, establish audit timelines, resolve complex accounting issues, and serve as the final escalation point for audit queries.
  • Financial Statement Review & Sign-off: Oversee the preparation and final review of statutory financial statements and related disclosures, ensuring absolute accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, local GAAP).
  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Govern regulatory compliance, including the oversight of MAS quarterly reporting, bank compliance tests, and government statistic surveys.
  • Incentive & Tax Optimisation Support: Oversee the financial tracking and compliance of government incentives. Ensure actuals are rigorously prepared and audited against approved targets for active legal entities.
  • General Ledger & Balance Sheet Governance: Establish and enforce rigorous balance sheet reconciliation policies and governance standards. Actively review high-risk account movements and ensure internal controls are robust and compliant with company policy and local laws.
  • People Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals. Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and high performance.
  • Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with regional and local finance leaders (including SEA Finance, PTP, CTC, Treasury, and Controllership) to standardise processes, improve the quality and speed of the financial close, and support business initiatives.
  • Process Transformation: Identify and drive automation and process improvement initiatives within statutory reporting and accounting operations to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • At least 10 to 12 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on involvement in statutory audits and preparation of statutory financial statements in leading professional services firm (Big 4 background is highly preferred) or a multinational corporation (MNC).
  • Expert knowledge of relevant accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP) and complex statutory reporting environments. Experience navigating MAS regulations is highly advantageous.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel and advanced ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align with executive leaders and external partners.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, resilience, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
