Work you will do

 

Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transaction (SR&T) – Regulatory & Financial Risk practice in Southeast Asia. We provide risk transformation, data and modeling solutions focusing on some of the unique and complex issues our clients are facing in finance. Advise our clients how to optimize compliance programs, standardize processes and transform compliance to protect their value across the business, while building great visibility, efficiency and confidence for the future.

 

You will work alongside our clients to bring a rigorous, evidence based analytical capability to help them solve pressing and complex issues. This includes revealing insight and delivering value through pragmatic and actionable recommendations. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving change, identifying opportunities and develop solutions across the whole organization.

 

The nature of the work we do includes:

 

  • Serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, interpreting client requirements and aligning them with business objectives, while providing strategic insights to resolve complex financial risk and regulatory compliance challenges.
  • Deliver impactful presentations, demonstrations, and recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and configuration of customized business solutions, leveraging in-depth knowledge of risk and regulatory frameworks.
  • Offer expertise on risk management technologies, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. Basel, IFRS9, Liquidity, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Banking Regulations, Insurance-related Risk, Treasury-related risk areas (e.g., ALM, IRRBB, funding and capital management, etc), collaborating with SMEs to leverage relevant technologies and analytical tools in delivering scalable risk management solutions.
  • Work closely with project managers, technical analysts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, scope, and timelines.
  • Support project planning, execution, and monitoring, coordinating tasks among team members to maintain quality and progress.
  • Actively contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and participate in professional development activities.
  • Proactively manage client relationships and contribute to proposal development, market growth, and business development efforts.

Requirements

 

  • Possesses a degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Accountancy, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) are strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally within banking or financial services, with strong knowledge of financial markets and the banking industry.
  • Demonstrates deep expertise in at least one risk management domain, including Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk, Climate Risk, Insurance-related Risk, Treasury-related risk areas (e.g., ALM, IRRBB, funding and capital management, etc) or relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with data analytics and statistical tools such as Python and SAS, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative abilities, with exceptional data interpretation skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently against demanding timelines, maintaining meticulous work habits.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse, multitasking, cross-country environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability abilities.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • A high-performing, coachable team player who prioritizes continuous development, puts clients first, and exemplifies a values-driven mindset.
