Work you will do

 

The Internal Quality and Risk Management (QRM) Consultant will support the SEA SR&T business in managing quality, regulatory, independence, confidentiality, compliance and risk management matters across client engagements and business operations. The role will work closely with engagement teams, business leaders, Legal, Independence and regional QRM stakeholders to support high-quality delivery, responsible risk-taking and compliance with Deloitte policies, professional standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Support the deployment of quality and risk management programs and tools across the SEA SR&T business, ensuring consistent application and alignment with firm-wide standards.
  • Advise engagement teams on Deloitte risk policies, templates, methodologies, and tools to support high quality engagement execution.
  • Monitor engagement risk issues, follow up on actions, escalate concerns to leaders where appropriate, and support timely resolution of quality and risk matters.
  • Prepare risk assessments, consultation records, reports, trackers and management updates to support governance, transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Analyse risk, compliance and operational data to identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities to enhance QRM processes, tools and guidance.
  • Support quality monitoring, compliance reviews, and regulatory obligations across the business.
  • Build effective working relationships with engagement teams, leaders and support functions across Southeast Asia, adapting communication style to different stakeholders.
  • Contribute to QRM training, awareness communications, knowledge-sharing and process improvement initiatives to strengthen the firm’s culture of quality, ethics and risk management.
  • Demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, professional scepticism and accountability in handling sensitive, confidential and complex risk matters.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management, Law or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in risk management, compliance, audit, legal, governance, consulting, professional services, or financial services. Experience in a professional services environment, particularly in contracting, engagement risk reviews, regulatory compliance, independence, or internal controls, would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with risk management, regulatory compliance, governance, confidentiality, independence and quality management concepts, and the ability to apply them in a professional services environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with English fluency, proficiency with Microsoft Office+ suite and related productivity tools, and with the ability to prepare clear reports, updates and stakeholder communications.
  • Able to manage priorities, follow up effectively, escalate issues appropriately and deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and proactive, with the ability to work across teams, businesses and geographies.
  • Ability to work independently and concurrently as a team player across different service offerings in the SEA region, comfortable interacting and communicating with varying levels of stakeholders.  
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to review information critically, exercise sound judgement and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of topics and issues within the risk management field, always coachable for continuous development.
