Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transactions (SR&T) practice in Southeast Asia.  Our practitioners deliver highly specialised advisory solutions to clients facing critical business events and financial transactions where significant value is at stake.  With a network of trusted resources working across the globe, our SEA Strategy, Risk & Transactions network has the reach, deep industry sector knowledge, extensive service capabilities and expertise to help clients capitalise on opportunities and navigat​e times of economic uncertainty and disruptive events. 

 

The Quality and Risk Management (QRM) Senior Manager will play a senior advisory and execution leadership role in strengthening the firm’s Quality and Risk Management framework across Southeast Asia. The role will be responsible for leading, shaping and enhancing quality, regulatory and risk management processes, with a particular focus on SR&T pursuits and engagements, Corporate Finance Advisory, Restructuring and related regulated service areas.

 

The incumbent will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence, applying strong technical judgment and practical risk insight to advise partners, engagement teams and regional leadership on regulatory, contracting, quality and risk matters. The role will also serve as a key point of contact for regulatory oversight and advisory support, helping the business navigate increasing complexity across SEA while enabling responsible and sustainable growth.

 

The nature of the work we do includes:

 

  • Strategic Risk Partnership
    Lead as a trusted risk advisor to the Business Risk Leader, SEA SR&T QRM team, partners and engagement teams, providing practical and commercially balanced guidance on regulatory, quality, contracting and reputational risk matters. Help position QRM as a strategic enabler of responsible business growth across SEA.
  • Regulatory Compliance Advisory
    Act as a senior subject matter advisor on M&A, corporate finance, take-over, restructuring and related regulatory requirements, with a particular focus on supporting Corporate Finance Advisory and Restructuring businesses. Provide timely, pragmatic and technically sound advice to teams on applicable regulatory obligations and risk considerations.
  • Quality and Risk Program Implementation
    Lead the deployment and continuous enhancement of quality and risk management programmes, tools and initiatives across the SEA SR&T business, ensuring consistent application of firm-wide standards and alignment with local regulatory requirements
  • Stakeholder Management
    Build effective working relationships with partners, engagement teams, regional QRM functions and, where appropriate, regulators or external stakeholders. Exercise sound judgment, clear communication and professional confidence in complex or sensitive discussions.
  • Policy and Framework Development
    Shape and enhance QRM policies, guidelines, templates and governance mechanisms to support efficient engagement delivery while maintaining compliance with regulatory, contractual and internal risk protocols.
  • Practice Reviews and Compliance Monitoring
    Support the execution of thematic practice reviews and oversee the monitoring of internal policies and ISO standards to ensure continuous improvement and regulatory alignment.
  • Leadership Reporting and Insights
    Provide clear, timely and insightful reporting to senior leadership on regulatory, quality and risk matters, including key trends, emerging issues, mitigation actions and areas requiring leadership attention.
  • Learning and Development Facilitation
    Design and deliver targeted learning programs for senior leaders and staff within SR&T, aimed at deepening understanding of reputation, regulatory, and risk management principles.
  • Legal and Contractual Risk Collaboration
    Partner with the Office of General Counsel and Legal team to proactively identify and mitigate legal and contractual risks impacting the business.
  • Regulatory Horizon Scanning
    Lead regulatory horizon scanning and assess the implications of emerging regulatory developments for SR&T pursuits and engagements. Translate regulatory developments into practical guidance, escalation points and risk mitigation actions for partners and engagement teams.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management, Law or a related discipline. Relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Minimum experience range of 8 – 12 years of relevant experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, risk management, corporate finance, M&A, restructuring, capital markets or professional services. Strong technical understanding of M&A, corporate finance regulatory requirements, governance matters and regulatory expectations applicable to Corporate Finance Advisory and Restructuring businesses.
  • Prior experience with a regulator, capital markets authority, financial services regulator, professional services firm or regulated corporate finance environment would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, exercise excellent judgment and provide pragmatic, risk-focused advice in complex or time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence interacting with partners, engagement teams, senior leadership, regulators and regional support functions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory or risk matters into clear, practical guidance.
  • Strong organisational, governance and project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple priorities across service offerings and geographies.
  • High attention to detail, strong professional scepticism and a commitment to quality, ethics, confidentiality and compliance.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work across a broad range of regulatory, quality, contracting and risk management topics in a dynamic regional environment.
